A Belgrade practice for foreign nationals

Serbia Residence Center is a Belgrade practice that handles residence permits, company formation and accounting for foreign nationals living in Serbia.

Why this practice

Almost every firm in this market sells the same list of services and explains equally little about how any of it actually works. The decision you are making concerns your family's legal status.

This practice is led by an attorney who went through the entire route personally, from arrival to naturalisation. That means knowing not only what the law says but how it is applied at a specific counter in a specific administration. Those are different things, and the second one usually decides the case.

The second difference is that we work in three languages natively. Everything the authority sends arrives in Serbian. A substantial share of our clients lost time not because they had no right to the status, but because they misread a letter.

How we charge

A fixed price for a written scope, quoted before anything starts. No hourly billing. If it turns out mid-way that the situation is different from what was described, we requote against a new scope rather than billing hours.

Government fees, translation and insurance are paid at cost and directly. We do not mark them up, and they appear as separate lines.

When we are not the right fit

Published because you should know before you pay, not after. We turn down work that falls into these categories.

  • You want a residence permit without spending any time in Serbia. Every ground requires at least some physical presence, and the biometric appointment cannot be delegated.
  • Your goal is EU rights rather than living in Serbia. A Serbian permit does not lead there. Serbia is not an EU member. Raise it at the consultation rather than filing here: Montenegro is the furthest along of the candidate countries and we handle residence there too.
  • You need status resolved this week. Even a clean file depends on documents issued abroad.
  • You want us to describe a ground on the application that does not match your actual situation. We will not file that.
  • You want an EU route specifically. This is not one, because Serbia is not an EU member. Say so on the call and we will go through the Montenegro option instead, including how long naturalisation there actually takes.
  • You want to keep doing border runs indefinitely and are asking us to help optimise them. We will not build a plan around that.
  • Your funds cannot be documented. Serbian banks will ask about origin of funds, and we cannot solve that with immigration paperwork.
  • You need a permit issued without ever being physically present in Serbia.
